You Were Created To Be Genius.
3 Tips to
Successful Living:
1. If you spend 5 minutes a day
learning about saving and investing, in 6 months you’ll know more than most
people on the planet. It doesn’t take a lot of time, nor a lot of money to
become wealthy. It just takes a consistent effort. Don’t just study saving and
investing, but act on what you learn, that way you’ll be working towards your
future wealth creation.
2. Jesus is real and anyone who tells
you otherwise, doesn’t know what they’re talking about. People who’ve never
studied God and His word, don’t know the truth. If they knew the truth, the
truth would set them free; free from poverty, depression, illness, addiction,
poor relationships, lack of knowledge and much more. So, begin to spend a few
minutes reading your bible each morning.
3. You were created to be genius. No
matter what you were told growing up, genius lies within you. All you need to
do is read the right material. And if you don’t like reading, listen to you
tube. These days you have video tutorials and audible books, where someone
reads the book to you, so there is no excuse for not learning.
The bible
states you have not, because you ask not. The bible also promises wisdom. How
about you ask for wisdom? It’s a good place to start and it’s a promise of God
and God’s word is truth. If He makes a promise to you, which He has done
through His word, He keeps it.
God tells
you He’s placed His word higher than even His name, that’s how much He values
His word. Therefore, if you ask for wisdom and God promises wisdom – wisdom you
shall have. His word will not return void. What He says, He means.
Aim to be
the best in your field. Study from the best people in the world, those who are
already successful in your field of choice and it stands to reason that some of
their knowledge rubs off on you. Saturate yourself, meditate and dwell in the
area you wish to succeed at and you won’t be able to help but improve.
Don’t we
all wish there was a ‘success book for life?’ Well, I’m here to tell you; the
bible is the ‘success book’ of life. You can’t leave it sitting on the shelf
though, you have to read it. Leaving it on the shelf is like leaving your car
in the garage and hoping the car will take you places. Unless you open the
door, put the key in the ignition and turn the car on, you won’t get anywhere.
The bible’s
the same – unless you open the book, read through its pages, absorb and act on what
it’s telling you, you won’t get anywhere. Read your bible, trust what it’s
telling you and take action. Simple.
Have you
noticed no one says; Oh my Allah, or oh my Buddha? All the nations of the Earth
exclaim: Oh my God! That’s because God has put a part of Himself within us and
that part cries out to Him, the One who is in all and above all. Whether in
complete joy, or in despair, it’s the Great God of Heaven that we call to.
Take the
well-lit path, the straight way. Don’t meander through life, expecting things
to change eventually. Make the change happen yourself. God will open a way
through your darkest moments. Just follow Him.

The Drifter.
It’s long
been known that smoking causes poorer mental and physical health, than their
non-smoking counterpart, for this has been well documented. One should also be
aware; it doesn’t stop at poorer mental and physical health. What’s less well
known is that a smoker is more likely to have poor planning overall in life
management than non-smokers; that smokers have an increased risk of
intergenerational poverty, with less long-term financial security. And the list
goes on…
Apart from
the financial drain associated with smoking, smoking also thins the cerebral
cortex, destroying the grey matter of the mind, which is the area where
thinking skills come from and includes memory and learning. The thicker the
cerebral cortex the better.
And apart
from the obvious; mouth, tongue, throat and lung cancers associated with
smoking, and the higher risk of stroke and heart disease, there’s also the
stunted growth of the mind, which is hugely impacted in a negative way, particularly
when the undeveloped mind starts down the smoking path.
You may or
may not believe in a devil who corrupts the minds of the young (oh how he loves
it, when a child begins his/her track down that smoking path), however devil
aside the mind is still corrupted.
The mind of
the youth, without being totally aware of it, is geared toward risky behaviour.
Smoking is so tantalising to the youth, that they start without giving much
thought to the long-term consequences. And this why I’ve used the label of ‘drifter.’ When the drifter takes up smoking, they start
down a slippery slope without thinking of, or fully understanding the
consequences.
What does
smoking do that’s so bad (as if the above paragraphs aren’t horrific enough)?
Cigarettes break down the power of resistance, the power of persistence and
endurance and the ability to concentrate. Smoking dims learning and memory, while
at the same time, increases the risk of dementia. Smoking is also the doorway
drug to other types of addiction.
Millions of
people around the world smoke the equivalent of two packets of cigarettes a day, gradually destroying their power of resistance. Over time, other habits of
a different form will be added; drinking/drugs/gambolling and more besides. And
while not every smoker will have every trait I’ve listed here, you’ll read
enough to know; there’s an element of truth in what I’ve written.
Once a
habit is formed, a habit generally doesn’t stop at one; they usually rise to
two, three, or even more. These habits invite looseness in other areas, such as
relationships, because a person with a thinning cerebral cortex has seldom told
themselves ‘no’ and therefor they’ve become weak in all areas related to good
decision making, having never exercised and strengthened their decision-making
process.
We’re
surrounded by people who are completely unconscious about life. Many parents
don’t teach a child how to win at the game of life (mostly because they don’t
know themselves), how to set and achieve goals or how to manage their money and
so that child learns to ‘drift’ though life, without any understanding of how
to overcome difficult situations.
Very young
people are taking up the smoking habit, before their minds have even fully
formed. And we’re all oblivious of just how detrimental smoking is, until
someone wakes us up and advises us. And that’s my aim today, to inform a person
to make a choice: Drifter or non-drifter. One who follows the crowd or one who
thinks for themselves.
One doesn’t
necessarily have to be a smoker to be a drifter either. One only needs never to
have been taught goal setting, however, smoking does seem to increase the
percentages of drifters, since most people start there as the gateway to the
downhill slide. Other types of addiction also cause a downward spiral, even
sugar.
Too much
sugar can cause spikes in energy, followed by a quick energy drop, which causes
depression. It can cause a person not to think clearly and they can have
problems with decision making. So, I’m not particularly persecuting the smoker.
All kinds of addictions can cause problems, as I’m sure you’re well aware.
Regardless
of the addiction, the drifter will not set many goals and will achieve even
less of them. They have poor focus and concentration skills. They aren’t used to pushing themselves beyond the easy and it’s
one of the reasons quitting is difficult for them. They get it into their mind
they can’t stop and so don’t even try.
A drifter lacks
purpose, lacks confidence, spends all they earn and more. They are often sick
or ailing, have little or no imagination, no enthusiasm, take the line of least
resistance and have little or no control over emotions. They state their own
opinion of everything but have little knowledge of anything. Drifters appear to
acquire little of value, as they've spent their disposable money on expensive cigarettes.
They never
accomplish anything that requires thought. They lack initiative. They are ill
tempered; their harsh personality doesn’t attract people and they neglect to
cooperate with those around them, even those on whom they depend. Often, they
make the same mistakes over and over and never learn from those mistakes. Some
people’s personality lacks magnetism; people don’t like to be around them.
They are
narrow minded and intolerant to all, crucifying those who disagree with their
views. They’re loud in their condemnation of government, but never voice how to
improve the situation. They eat too much, exercise too little, gamble too often
and drink too heavily. They criticize successful people and will tell a lie,
rather than admit they don’t know something.
On the
other hand, the devil has no control over a non-drifter, a person who is awake
to the devil’s wiles. There is no glee, when the devil see’s his plan to cause
a person to become addicted, has failed. And while the devil loves to see a
drifter, he hates a non-drifter.
The non-drifter
is always doing something definite, which sits alongside major and minor goals.
The tone of voice, the sparkle in the eyes, define a non-drifter. They make
quick decisions, know what they want and will take the required time go after
it. They never fail to envision the way they’d like to see their life head and
constantly work towards their vision. They extend favours, without expecting
anything in return. They’re always up front and honest, even in games, or war.
They have a good memory and never blame others for their mistakes. They enjoy
helping and are an inspiration to others.
The
non-drifter has a mind of his/her own and uses it all towards purpose and
desire, as well as helping others.
The difference
between a drifter and a non-drifter is quite simply this; a non-drifter will
use their own mind and think for themselves, planning for the future and working
towards it. A drifter is always after the easy way, with little or no thought
behind what they do, with no plans or goals to set themselves up in a lifestyle
of future comfort and ease.
This
article may come across as harsh and I’m not here to malign people who smoke,
nor people with addictions, as not every drifter is an addict, nor is every
drifter unsuccessful. People who smoke are just more likely to start the
‘drift,’ than those who don’t, according to studies.
Still,
those drifters that aren’t getting anywhere in life, need to wake up and think
for themselves. They need plan for their future, also to give some sort of
service to as many people as possible, for s/he must give before s/he gets. That’s
the universal law of reciprocity. What you give out, you get back.
God blesses His people. He blesses those who do His will. It’s
that simple. Mostly drifters don’t think to look at God. They poo-poo Him as a
figment of imagination, never reading the bible, or searching for themselves,
to see if God’s actually real. The drifter has formed his or her idea on the
matter and because they don’t think past their personal beliefs, seldom do they
take the time to search out the truth of the matter.
If you want a successful life, do as a non-drifter does.
Read, learn, study, think for yourselves and watch your life change. I know
this to be true for although never a smoker, I was once a drifter myself,
unaware of how to set and achieve goals, a disbeliever of God, thinking I was
right and others didn’t know what they were talking about. I too, was never
taught to set and achieve goals.
I’ve seen changes in my life as I’ve followed the new
programming of my mind (which came about through the reading of my bible) and
am now successful in many areas of life. I still have some work to do, but I’m
a lot further along than I was before I started my journey. I ask you not to disregard
the ideas this article has brought forward, but to search out the truth for
yourself.
I could give you a list of web addresses, backing up what
I’ve written about in this article, but I shall leave it to you to do your own
leg work. The non-drifter will take the time to seek the truth, whereas the
drifter won’t bother, as they already think they know the truth and while we
can never know everything about life, it does help to search out what’s important
to living a successful life.
Having said that, some people are quite happy drifting
along, slowly marking time without the stress of hard work and that’s fine, if
it’s your choice. But, if you feel you aren’t getting anywhere in life, perhaps
it’s time to step it up a little, work out where you would like to be, set your
intention and aim for that.

Boundaries of the Mind.
Boundaries of the Mind.
Just as the
great wall of China was built to stop raiding nomads, so too did biblical
cultures of old use walls for protection, as well as to create boundaries
around their settlements. If the walls weren’t continually maintained the enemy
would take the advantage and gain entry; a valuable lesson, albeit fateful for
the city.
In the same
way, we as Christians need to maintain our personal boundaries, if we wish to
remain protected in life. We need to ensure the ‘wall of self-control’ is up
and guarded, else the enemy will attack.
If we wish
to see good success in any endeavour, we need to have solid walls of
protection, with well thought out escape plans, should things go awry. And we
can only to that with forethought, planning and preparation.
Not only does the bible give you examples of what to do in any given situation, you can also find more examples by following those who’ve succeeded before you.
If you’re waiting for everything to ‘fall together,’ it’s not going to happen. You need to be intentional, to set your intent, if you wish to live a successful life.
Sure, some of us get lucky where everything falls into place easily and effortlessly, but for the rest of us, we need to plan. We need to have preparations in place, for those days when we’re weak and may need more help, more support, more strength, more courage.
The bible
is a great place to start. You may not believe in the bible. Perhaps it’s time
to give it a go, for how can you argue against what you’ve never read. Be open
minded. Start a new thing, for a new thing is always mind altering.
It’s never
too late to start either. If you’ve failed up to this point, there’s nothing
like turning a page and writing a new chapter in your book of life.
Although
broken people take longer to get there, as they have a lot more work to do to
overcome their past, it is still doable. You may have to work harder, but it’s
not impossible for you to turn your life around.
Plan,
prepare, be diligent, be disciplined, follow those who’ve gone before you and
succeeded and you to will get there. There’s so much information on success,
right at our fingertips these days. There is no excuse for not at least giving
it a try.
If the
battle becomes too difficult, rest. If you fall down, take a break. Don’t quit
though. Get back up, dust yourself off and have another go. You can never lose
in anything to which you consistently apply yourself. You just have to keep
going, during the learning process.
No, it’s
not always going to be easy. Not everything we do in life succeeds. But how
will you know if you don’t try? Yes, you are going to have to work for it. It will be worth your efforts, when you see your life turn around. Even if you
fail and have to try again, you’ll have learned a lot in the process and will
be better armed next time.
So: write
the vision and make it plain, as it says in the bible, that he may run who reads
it…though it tarry, wait for it, for it will surely come. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
Spend time
with God every day. Work out the steps you’ll need to take to get you where you
want to go and go for it. Turn those steps into an action plan. Do it one step
at a time and it won’t be so overwhelming. On the difficult days, remember why
you started. Keep a journal and mark your progress. In time you will see great
success.
Good luck
and God bless!

Goals and Dreams
The
Intention of Moving Forward in Life.
What do you
wish today about your life? If you could have anything you wanted, what would
it be? Maybe your dream is misty valleys and snow-capped peaks, with no-one
around for miles. Perhaps it’s a beach shack on the water’s edge. Your dream
might be a better paying, or more fulfilling job. You might think to have a few
dollars in the bank, is your idea of security from which an idyllic life will
flow. Dreams are different for everyone, but they’re all achievable, if only we
know the steps that get us there.
Generally, in
life we long to be more than we are and we do that through discontent. If you’re
discontent with your lot in life, you’re in a great place, because that will
catapult you forward. Then if you keep breathing and keep going, set goals and
keep working towards them, you will move forward and see those goals eventuate.
In life
we’re either moving forwards or backwards. There is no middle line. We’re
making money or we’re spending money, living a joyous life, or not. We have
good relationships or bad. There’s very little in between.
If we want
to move forward in life, we have to be intentional about it. It doesn’t just
come to us. We have to strive with diligence and discipline. Single minded determination. Some of us might get lucky, but most of us have to work towards
what we want to see, if we wish to improve our lives. Aim to be the best in your field and never stop learning.
If you want
good health and wellbeing, what are you doing about it? We can’t help the body
we’re born with, but we can work towards being the best version of ourselves.
And it’s going to take effort.
It takes
effort to eat healthily, rather than grab the next takeaway. It takes effort to
exercise. It’s much easier to play on the computer, watch tv, or just sit and
stare out the window. Anything worth having, you have to fight for, so fight
for your health. Your body is the only one you have. Take care of it.
Relationships
transform lives. Good or bad. People who aren’t good for you, will tear at the
fabric of your soul. Don’t stand for it. You’re worth more. Hang out with
people who make you feel good about who are, positive people, people who will
lovingly (not nastily) push you to help you reach your dreams and aspirations.
Stand up
for yourself (as long as it’s safe to do so. If it isn’t safe – leave!). Don’t
waste your valuable time with someone who doesn’t respect who you are. If
you’re dating a condescending, verbally or physically abusive person, it’s time
to move on. It’s not going to get any better the longer you stay. If you’re
married, try taking steps towards improving that marriage. You can go to a
councillor, or read books on how to improve your marriage. It will take work on
both sides, but if you start, perhaps your spouse will work with you.
I don’t
advocate divorce. I’d prefer you to cover as much area as you can to making the
marriage work, but if it’s unsafe, or you know it can’t work, maybe it’s time
to think about separation. Relationships are not easy and I’m not going to tell
you the best way to navigate them. You will have to sort that one out for
yourself, because we’re all different and we all handle different situations in
a myriad of ways and I can’t tell you what the right way for you is,
particularly as I haven’t met you.
Value your
time. The more time we waste, the less we enjoy our lives. You think sitting on
the beach is idyllic and it is, for a day or two, or a week or two, then it
gets boring. You need to value your time. Sure, have your holiday and enjoy it,
but once back in your environment, make that environment count for something.
Your
vocation, what you do for a living, shouldn’t make you feel unworthy. Nor
should it be detrimental to your health. You’re going to spend a lot of time at
work, make sure you’re doing something you love. That doesn’t mean quit your
job today. Perhaps you can find what you love to do, take the necessary courses
to get into the field of your dreams and then apply for that position. It will
take effort to work and study on the side, but the reward of spending every day
doing what you love, will be well worth it.
Time and
money equals freedom or constraint. Without time and without money, we’re
constrained in what we can do and accomplish. With time and money, we have
freedom. Freedom to choose where we want to live, the kind of holidays we’d
like to go on, the type of car we drive, how much time we spend at work and how
much free time we have. And it all comes by taking control of our finances and
our time.
Every time
you save a wasted minute, is a minute you have to work towards your freedom. In
working towards that freedom, try reading books on investing. It’s not as hard
as you think, nor does it take as much money as you think. Then, when you have
a savings plan up and running, you’ll know where to invest your money and you
won’t be muddling around trying to work it out. And you do need a savings plan.
There are plenty of books around, which will teach you how to save and how to
budget.
What would
you like to see yourself doing? What are your dreams, your desires? What do you
need to do, in order to see those dreams come to fruition? Break down what you
need, into manageable steps. Take the necessary steps in the direction you wish
to head and each day, you’ll make a little more progress towards freedom. Do a
little every day and have a plan in place for the days you don’t feel like it,
for the days you don’t have time, or just those times where procrastination
takes hold. If you have your plans in place, nothing can stop you.
And if you
happen to fail, don’t quit. Dust yourself off and have another go, for you see,
failure isn’t the end. Failure is the step you take before success. So don’t
ever quit. Keep working towards your dream, your desire, your goal and don’t
stop until you reach it.
Learn how
to manage the 7 F’s in life: Faith, family, finance, fun, fitness, future,
friends and to that I would add one more - occupation. When you have all these
balanced, your life will be much simpler and much more joyous. Isn’t that what
we want at the end of the day? A joyous and simple life, full of good health,
family, friends, fun and laughter.
If there
was one more thing I could add here, it would be to get your spiritual life in
order. You can have everything you desire in life, but what’s the point of
gaining the whole world only to lose your spirit in the process. For me, that
means Jesus and I can say without a doubt, Jesus has pulled me through more
scrapes than I could have ever got through on my own. On the trying and
difficult days, I’m glad I was able to pray to My Lord and Saviour. If you
don’t know Jesus, maybe it’s time to get to know Him. Don’t be fooled by
substitutes. There are many ways to enlightenment, but the way, the truth and
the life only comes through Jesus.
